Plot Summary

The movie begins with an orphaned boy Dev (Rajeev Pillai) who is adopted by Guruji (Girish Karnad) and brought to his dance academy in Kolkata, owing to his dancing skills. Impressed by his talent, Guruji takes him under his wings and trains him in the classical dance forms. Dev develops a one-sided love for Guruji's daughter Sanjukta (Sulagna Panigrahi), who is also a dancer.

Sanjukta, however, falls in love with Gambhira (Rajesh Shringarpure), a Chhau dancer who comes to perform at the academy. Gambhira seems to be a charming and passionate man, but he has a hidden agenda. He is actually a Naxalite, who is on a secret mission to assassinate a politician. Dev suspects Gambhira's motives and warns Sanjukta, but she doesn't pay heed. Dev is heartbroken and Guruji is devastated, when Sanjukta secretly marries Gambhira.

Post marriage, Gambhira shows his true colours, thus ruining the life of his wife and Guruji. He abuses Sanjukta physically and mentally, and forces her to join his Naxalite group. He also tries to kill Guruji, who survives but loses his eyesight. Meanwhile, an accident takes Dev to Himachal, where he meets a girl named Ananya (Rupsha Guha), who helps him recover from his injuries.

Dev learns about Gambhira's atrocities and decides to come back to Kolkata to avenge the torture he inflicted on his guruji and his beloved. He confronts Gambhira and challenges him to a dance duel, where he defeats him with his superior skills. He then rescues Sanjukta from Gambhira's clutches and reunites her with Guruji. Dev also realizes that he has fallen in love with Ananya, who comes to Kolkata to meet him. The movie ends with Dev and Ananya getting married, while Sanjukta takes care of Guruji.
